My interest in music began at an early age. I wanted to take singing, acting and piano lessons at the early age of six. Family finances, however, limited me to only one choice, and singing won the day. My interest continued unabated throughout my high school years where I participated in every choral and drama activity possible. After high school graduation, I continued my studies at Western Illinois University in Macolm, IL. I majored in vocal music. During the summer between my sophomore and junior years, I was selected to work summer stock at The Little Theatre on the Square in Sullivan, Illinois. This experience not only gained some lifelong friends, but galvanized my love for the theater. I taught music for one year, but then moved to New York City to pursue a career on stage. I was moderately successful, working local theaters, until finally getting the break all actors dream of. I was given a role in Gypsy, working with Angela Lansbury. What a treat it was working with her. It seemed I learned something new every night. I’ve married now, moved to Texas and have a family. I’m still in the business, though, working as a vocal coach at Septien Vocal Studios in the Dallas area. I’ve self produced a one woman show entitled Broadway Revisited and just released my new CD entitled Not Just a Housewife.
